This position is within Reynolds American Services Company—a subsidiary that provides support services, including compliance, HR, law, finance, information management, and more to all of the subsidiaries of RAI.
 

 

Position Summary:

 

RAI Services Company is seeking a qualified Senior Statistician to support our product and process development, toxicological, and regulatory projects. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with various internal and external groups/clients to provide broad statistical support and to manage multiple projects to ensure timelines are met. This position also offers opportunities for acquiring new skills, engaging with regulatory agency (FDA/CTP), publishing research findings, mentoring young scientists and professional growth.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Select appropriate statistical approaches and conduct statistical analyses to meet client and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate results via written study reports, oral presentations, and meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clients to design experiments, develop study objectives and hypotheses, and determine appropriate sample sizes.
  • Work cooperatively with other statisticians and regulatory submission specialists to address regulatory and project-related statistical issues.

 

Position Qualifications:

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master of Science degree in statistics, biostatistics, or closely related discipline and 1+ year relevant experience but candidates possessing a Ph.D. are preferred.
  • Proficient in statistical software for data analysis (SAS preferred).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including technical writing skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a focus on timely and accurate completion of priorities.
     

Preferred:

  • Experience in the analysis of chemical, biological, and/or toxicological data. 
  • Expertise in experimental design, analysis of variance, regression analysis, mixed models, categorical data analysis, nonparametric statistics, and sampling statistics.
  • Ability to drive collaborative efforts cross-functionally and externally.
  • Excellent attention and accuracy with details. Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
