This position is with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company—the second-largest U.S. tobacco company. The company's brands include Newport, Camel and Pall Mall.

The Senior Manager Strategic Analysis in Strategy & Planning provides leadership for departmental and cross functional teams and is sought out by others for guidance and insight. Provides value by applying research, analysis, and understanding of the industry, to influence and drive achievement of corporate objectives. Willing to challenge existing paradigms to drive continuous improvement across the organization.

 

Principle Duties: 

  • Analysis of market performance, competitive intelligence, and consumer trends to inform key stakeholders of current market dynamics and future opportunities
  • Development of insights from analyses and reporting activities to provide timely and actionable recommendations
  • Positive, credible, and data-backed influence on the decision-making process within a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Effective communication of results and findings to clients across the organization to facilitate the decision-making process
     

Required:

  • Bachelor of science and master’s degree in business preferred

 

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 3+ years related work experience in the business/commercial analytics or market research area
  • Demonstrated ability to understand broader business issues and seek resolution

 

Special Skill/Attributes:

  • Ability to identify business trends and opportunities across various business performance factors
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Consumer and market research experience across sales, marketing and syndicated data sources
  • Experience initiating, managing, and reporting consumer/market research projects is desirable
  • Skilled in summarizing extensive analysis into concise, actionable insights across multiple audiences
  • Responsive, enthusiastic, and team oriented self-starter
  • Ability and desire to work in fast-paced, high profile environment that requires pivoting and multi-tasking
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word
  • Experience with business intelligence tools like Microstrategy; report building, data query tools
  • Experience with managing databases, data quality and relational data
