Senior Manager - Strategic Communications - Digital Advocacy

Position Summary

 

RAI seeks an experienced communications professional to join a high-performing team to develop and execute communications initiatives and digital advocacy campaigns. The role requires a candidate with an integrated campaign mindset who can bring scalable, agile solutions to our creative and team-based culture.  

 

The candidate will help design and set the digital advocacy vision for our team, and should have a demonstrated ability to lead transformative communications and digital advocacy strategies, and quickly and effectively coordinate campaigns. This position requires significant cross-functional and agency leadership experience and a thorough understanding of policy communications and digital engagement, including but not limited to:

 

  • Integrated digital advocacy campaign strategy development and execution
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to influence and share across internal stakeholders
  • Development and creation of both written and graphics content for digital platforms
  • Media engagement strategies
  • Digital crisis/issues management
  • Stakeholder/voter targeting and analysis
  • Digital advertising planning and buying, including direct buys through self-serve platforms
  • Experience working in public affairs and action platforms, such as EveryAction or NationBuilder
  • Experience in strategic research, data analysis and communications measurement
     
    Main Responsibilities:
     
  • Develop and maintain RAI's positioning across current and emerging digital advocacy platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and strong campaign management
  • Create and execute a digital strategy aligned across a broad group of internal stakeholders, as part of an integrated campaign and various political/issue advocacy initiatives.
  • Engage with and manage agencies and third-party organizations on digital strategies that support business objectives
  • Identify and refine understanding of target audiences and work with agency and internal teams to sharpen digital strategy focus; collect and analyze feedback from stakeholders
  • Manage digital and traditional media monitoring and a reporting system, and help brainstorm solutions and problem-solve for areas of opportunity
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on expectations, progress and milestones achieved
  • Perform other duties as assigned
     
    Qualifications and requirements:
     
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, political science or a related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, an agency setting or on political campaigns, including digital leadership and content strategy
  • A proactive, campaign-style mindset to drive effective integrated, omni-channel initiatives
  • Direct experience in a highly visible and cross-functional role with proven success collaborating and communicating with IT, technical and development teams and consultants
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities, as well as experience leading website and digital redesigns is critical
  • Experience working with CRM and/or stakeholder communications
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
