Director of Next Generation (NGP) Product Management





Reynolds American Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of British American Tobacco, and its operating companies are leading the transformation of the tobacco industry in the United States of America.   Reynolds American Incorporated Innovation Company (RAIIC) was established in January 2016 to drive innovation in next generation products to reduce the harm caused by smoking. 


Position Overview


The Director of NGP Product Management is a new position and will report to the Vice President of Innovation Pipeline for Reynolds American Incorporated Innovation Company (RAIIC).  The core responsibility of this position is to drive the Product Innovation Strategy and Pipeline for RJ Reynolds Vapor Company’s (RJRVC) brand(s).  Position will involve frequently working across functional areas, as well as, working with counterparts from British American Tobacco’s Teams.  Success requires passionate engagement and the ability to lead the organization to develop a steady cadence of break-through, consumer-centric products.


Scope of Responsibilities



  • Ensure that RJRVC’s Brand(s) have a robust pipeline of break-through, consumer-centric products


    Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate portfolio and product-specific Innovation Strategies and Development Plans
  • Identify Consumer Research reeds and incorporate findings into work
  • Incorporate Global Insights and Best Practices into work
  • Work with Consumer Marketing Brand team(s) to identify portfolio gaps and opportunities
  • Brief R&D team on development priorities and serve as project manager for initiatives
  • Work with Marketing Research team to assess viability of products as they progress through the stages of development
  • Develop business cases for Innovation projects and ensure Financial viability as development progresses
  • Communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders/Leadership
  • Role will serve as a key connection point between RAIIC and the broader organization and must play an active role in fostering a winning environment and culture

  • 4+ years Consumer Marketing, Product Management &/or Innovation Experience with increasing responsibility
  • 2+ years Trade Marketing Experience in related channels
  • Knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, the target markets, its Consumers, and key competitors.
  • MBA preferred, 4-year college degree required
