Job Summary:

This position reports to the Vice President Operations Services and is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for new brand launches, new growth initiatives and product/packaging changes for all Operating Companies (OpCos) with focus on New Generation Products.  The incumbent will be responsible for oversight and accountability of the manufacturing and commercialization processes, ensuring process capability assessment, speed to market, and innovative and cost effective execution from concept to market introduction.  The scope of responsibility also includes strategic planning across Operating Company (OpCo) Brand functions and levels, seeking opportunities to ensure programs are optimally aligned to achieve Company objectives. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs and supervises the work of a team of Senior Managers Innovations Program Planning
  • Drives continuous process improvement by recognizing unnecessary complexities and process gaps and proactively sets strategies with the appropriate stakeholders to formulate and execute effective solutions
  • Serves as primary contact for any brand related Supply Chain issues from other functional areas, both internally and externally
  • Continually assesses changes in regulations, best practices, process enhancements, complexity reduction opportunities, productivity and financial performance to achieve a competitive advantage for our products
  • Leads negotiations with internal and external stakeholders, assisting stakeholders in the development of business plans and  strategies to take advantage of business opportunities
  • Provides subject matter expertise for project management including scope definition, business risks, timing, resource allocation, manufacturing options and budgeting
  • Oversees business case development of new product/program launches to deliver financial targets within budgetary estimates; minimizes operational impact of launches with regards to complexity while meeting Company objectives
  • Provides guidance on development and execution of approved plans.  Shares accountability/ownership of business performance metrics
  • Sets strategies to ensure minimal impact to OpCo portfolios
  • Provides strategic guidance on product and packaging initiatives within Operations functions to improve business processes, cost structure and marketplace position
  • Acts as an expert in best practices to develop competitive advantage in manufacturing, marketing and distribution of our products
  • Provides communication across the broader organization as it relates to brand initiatives and product/packaging changes to ensure understanding of scope, timing, cost and impact
  • Drives strategic planning opportunities in support of the Fast Forward business process including Stage & Gate and PPDP
  • Maintains transparent and collaborative partnerships with stakeholders within and external to Operations

 

Job Requirements:

 

Education:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field and 7+ years of relevant work experience;

or

Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field and 5+ years of relevant work experience

 

Experience:

 

  • Broad knowledge of Marketing and Trade Customers, Demand Planning, Graphic Design Agencies, R&D Product Standards, Product Development, and Customer Service
  • Strong working knowledge of all areas of Operations
  • Proven track record of leadership, change management and team building
  • Understanding of industry trends and competitive strategic outlook in order to identify opportunities

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Excellent analytical problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills
  • Ability to self-direct, be pro-active and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and direct strategies, anticipate emerging issues and get results in a complex multi-functional environment
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to lead and drive the execution of multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to rapidly changing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word)   and other computer programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify/lead/support initiatives that create change
  • Demonstrated ability to identify obstacles and problems and to implement resolutions that meet company objectives

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Previous experience in Operations within RAI
  • In-depth knowledge of OpCo business strategies
  • Familiarity with enterprise production and material planning software

 

Physical Requirements:

Regular attendance at work.

Approximately 15% international travel
